Adventure gear brand Cotopaxi opens in Bridgeport Village

Apparel and outdoor gear retailer Cotopaxi is opening a store in Bridgeport Village on Friday.

The new store at 7379 S.W. Bridgeport Road will be Cotopaxi’s second location in the Portland area. The outdoor brand opened its first brick-and-mortar retail shop in Portland in April last year.

The Salt Lake City retailer, known for its bold color ways and sustainable design and manufacturing, will be hosting giveaways and special promotions during its grand opening from Friday through Sunday. On Saturday, the first 100 visitors will receive a free 3L Bataan Hip Pack. All weekend, visitors that spend $125 or more will also receive a free 18L Luzon Backpack.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Cotopaxi was launched in 2014 and focuses on what it promotes as sustainably sourced and ethically made products, which include a lifetime warranty. The brand is known for its offbeat color combinations and puffer vests that have a three-stripe pattern across the chest.

Cotopaxi has 14 stores nationwide, including the newest location at Bridgeport Village. The retailer has stores in California, Texas, New Hampshire, Colorado, Utah and Oregon.
